Robber's Cave,

Robbers’ Cave, also known as Gucchu Paani locally, is a natural cave by a river in the Himalayas near Dehar Plateau in Dehradun. It’s about 600 meters long, split into two parts. The biggest drop in the cave is around ten meters.

In the middle of the cave, there used to be a wall that looked like a fort, but it’s broken now. This cave formed in a rocky area on the Dehra Plateau of the Doon Valley.

What makes Robbers’ Cave interesting is its story. It’s ten kilometers from the main city. As you drive up the hills, you’ll see a stunning view. There’s a big entrance gate with a face like a monster. Inside, the path gets narrower, so watch your step.

Tip: Wear comfy clothes like shorts and easy-to-walk-in slippers or flip-flops. If you forget your slippers, you can rent a pair for Rs.10 each.

The cave has clear water, shiny pebbles, and sunlight peeking through, making it beautiful. You can spend about three to four hours relaxing there.

But be careful! Don’t go in the cave during monsoon season. The water level rises a lot, making it hard to walk. You could fall and get hurt, turning your trip into a painful one. Watch out for flash floods or sudden rushes of water during the monsoon.
